His Word is our counselors. His Word is forever settled in heaven. So let’s look to Him for His Counsel from His Word. Long ago He promises the blessings of obedience and the curses of disobedience. God brings together. He makes One with Himself all those who obey Him. It is sin that divides. All lawlessness or disobedience is sin. The flesh wars against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, so that those who walk in the flesh cannot please God. So let us walk in the Spirit so that we do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, which is to sin and divide. Now to walk in the Spirit, we certainly must be filled with the Holy Spirit. If we have not the Spirit of Christ, we are not His. Examine yourselves to see if you are in the faith. Not in a faith, but in the faith.
There is nothing new under the sun. What has been of old, shall be again. Though Israel became innumerable as the sand of the sea, He has saved but a remnant for Himself. He stretched out His Hand to them all the day long, but their hearts were hardened because of disobedience and they could not enter into His Rest. Are we different, somehow exempt? Will we not be broken off if we practice disobedience?
He spoke of a coming famine, not of bread, but of hearing the Word of God. Again, He warns us, “So take care how you listen” or hear. He tells us to let the Word of God sink down into our ears. He warned us the enemy would sow chaff in the same field in which the good seed was sown. Both would sprout and grow together, almost indistinguishable. If you love me, keep My Commandments. Why do you call me Lord and do not the things that I tell you?
The mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Soon that lawless one will be revealed. He works in accord with the working of Satan. Whose work is sin, which divides and tears apart. He will deceive many that are perishing because they did receive the love of the Truth. Beware of the savage wolves that come in among us. From within they will come speaking falsely in the Name of Jesus. Buy the Truth and sell it not.
